In a performance that bridges the worlds of experimental electronica, sophisticated drumming, and boundary-pushing dance music, Swiss drummer and composer Arthur Hnatek joins forces with British musician Barker. This collaboration promises a hypnotic, unique experience where Hnatek’s dynamic, intricate drumming and modular synthesizers merge with Barker’s visionary approach to danceable yet unconventional electronic music.

Arthur Hnatek is a Swiss drummer, composer, and electronica artist known for his innovative fusion of electronic music and technically sophisticated drumming. In 2022, he was awarded the Swiss Music Prize. As an electronica artist, Arthur performs worldwide, blending improvised music with functional club music by using drums and modular synthesizers. His works are internationally recognized and played on BBC Radio 6 and in clubs around the world.
In addition to his solo work, Arthur has performed as a drummer with artists such as Tigran Hamasyan and the Erik Truffaz Quartet. With his Arthur Hnatek Trio, he won the ZKB Jazz Prize in 2019 and released the album Static in 2021. Arthur teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and lives in Zurich.

The British musician Barker, based in Berlin, effortlessly merges elements of bass music, breakbeat, dub, and ambient with danceable electronic music in both his solo project and as part of the duo Barker & Baumecker. Their releases on Ostgut Ton, including the album Turns (2016), reflect this diversity.
As the curator of the Leisure System club series at Berghain, Barker has supported artists like Dopplereffekt and Objekt, redefining techno sounds. His debut solo EP Debiasing challenges the conventions of club music, while his album Utility (2019) explores utilitarian and transhumanist ideas through music.

A classically trained musician and instrument designer, Barker combines analog craftsmanship with coding. Most recently, he collaborated with Ray 7 from Underground Resistance on a sound study of empty factory halls in Detroit.
